Matt Rota is New York based Illustrator and an instructor at institutions that include the School of Visual Art, and The Maryland Institute College of Art. His clients include The New York Times, McSweeney's, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy Magazine, Nylon Guys, The Utne Reader, LA Weekly, Russian Esquire, Philadelphia Weekly, The Columbia Journalism Review, Science News, Ninja Tune Records, Time Out Chicago, and other publications. His drawings and prints have been shown in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Paris, and many other locations national and international. He has received recognition and awards from, American Illustration, Communication Arts, 3x3 Magazine, Creative Quarterly, Spectrum, The Society of Illustrators, and Lurzer’s Int’l Archive, where he was listed as one of the top 200 illustrators worldwide. His work in film can be seen in the documentaries The Silent truth, for which he receive an SOI silver medal, and the Sundance award winning film Resurrect Dead. His comics have been published online on Top Shelf 2.0 and Study Group.com, and anthologized in Gutter, Rabid Rabbit, and Supertalk.
